Photo on ceramic, from file to mounted plaque
Many people simply search for a photo on ceramic, without knowing what the process is called or what variants exist. Here we explain the whole journey, so you know what to expect and what's needed from you.
What you send
A single photograph. It can be digital, it can be a paper photo photographed with your phone, it can be old and damaged. What matters is that the face is recognisable. The rest — marks, scratches, a distracting background, other people in the frame — is handled during processing.
What we do
We clean the image, balance the light, discreetly sharpen the features, crop it to the chosen shape, and colourise it if you wish. All of this is included in the price. Then we send you a preview: exactly what will end up on the plaque, within the shape's outline. Nothing is fired before your approval.
The firing
The confirmed image is applied to the ceramic plaque and fired at high temperature. This is where what matters happens: the layer carrying the image bonds with the surface and becomes part of it. That's why the result holds up well to sun, rain and frost.
What you receive
The finished plaque, packed securely for transport. The courier brings it to your address or to a pickup point, within 3-7 business days of the order. Payment is by cash on delivery or online, whichever you prefer.
Mounting
It's done with neutral silicone or stone adhesive, on a clean, dry surface. It takes less than half an hour and requires no special tools. If the monument has a recessed hollow, the plaque is set into it with a little adhesive at the base — never forced, because the ceramic will crack.
Shapes and sizes
Twelve shapes, from the classic oval to book, heart, or papyrus, in sizes from 8x8 cm up to 24x30 cm. The choice is made based on the recess on the stone and the distance from which the monument is viewed.
If you're not sure what fits, send us a photograph of the monument. We'll answer with a recommendation, not an offer.
Frequently asked questions
What file should I send?
The original photograph from your phone or computer. Avoid screenshots and photos re-sent through messenger, which are already compressed.
Can I photograph a paper photo with my phone?
Yes. Place it on a table, in daylight, without flash, with the phone parallel to the photo, not at an angle.
How long does the whole thing take?
3-7 business days from order to delivery, including image processing and preview confirmation.
Is mounting included?
No, the plaque is delivered ready to mount. Mounting is simple, using stone adhesive; we have a step-by-step guide on the site.
